Vanilla Crumble Pear Pie

Ingredients

  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 5 cups sliced, peeled fresh pears (about 2 ½ lbs.)
  • 3 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice

Vanilla Pie Crust (see below)

Directions

  1. Combine ½ cup sugar with 2 Tbsp. four
  2. In a large bowl, sprinkle lemon juice over sliced pears
  3. Add sugar mixture; toss to coat the fruit
  4. Fill a pastry-lined 9” pie plate with pear mixture
  5. In another bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and Cook’s Pure Vanilla Powder
  6. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs
  7. Sprinkle crumb mixture evenly over pear filling
  8. Cover edge of pie with foil
  9. Bake in a 375ºF over for 25 minutes
  10. Remove foil and bake for 25-30 minutes more – until pie is bubbly and crust is golden
  11. Allow to cool on a wire rack before serving
