Quick Apple Crisp
For the filling:
5 lbs of apples, peeled, sliced, and cored (I prefer to use a blend of Granny Smith and Fuji)
1/2 Cup White Sugar
1/4 Tsp Salt
1/2 Tbsp Ground Cinnamon
2 Tbsp Lemon Juice
1 Tsp Cook’s Pure Cinnamon Extract
1/2 Tbsp Cook’s Pure Alcohol-Free Vanilla Flavoring
For the topping:
3/4 Cup Flour
1 Cup Old Fashioned Oats
1/2 Cup Sugar
1/2 Cup Butter, cold and cut into 1/4 inch cubes
1 Tbsp Cook’s Pure Vanilla Powder
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Combine apples, 1/2 cup sugar, salt, lemon juice, ground cinnamon, cinnamon extract, and alcohol-free vanilla in a 13X9 inch baking dish and mix together until all of the apple slices are well coated.
Combine the flour, oats, sugar, butter, and vanilla powder in a bowl. Mix the ingredients together with your hands, pressing the butter into the oats and the flour. The mixture should be mostly combined with a small amount of flour, oats, and sugar not combined.
Distribute the topping evenly over the top of the apples.
Bake for 40-50 minutes or until the apples are fully cooked and soft and the topping is golden brown. Cover loosely with aluminum foil if the topping gets too brown as it cooks.
