Homemade Vanilla Extract

750 mL Vodka (Also try whiskey or rum for a unique flavor profile)

3 Vanilla Beans

  1. Split vanilla beans length-wise down the center.
  2. Chop the vanilla beans into 1/4-inch pieces.
  3. Place the chopped vanilla beans into the vodka bottle.
  4. Shake vigorously once a week for 3 months.
  5. Wait 6-12 months before using.

For a double-fold, use twice the number of vanilla beans.
