Homemade Brown Sugar Ice Cream

Servings: 1.25 Quarts Prep: 5 minutes Cook Time: 30-35 Minutes


2 Cups Heavy Cream

2 Cups Half and Half

1 Cup Brown Sugar, packed

1 Tsp Pure Vanilla Extract

1 Tsp Pure Maple Extract

Pinch of Salt


This recipe requires an ice cream maker. If you have a kitchen aid, I recommend their ice cream maker attachment/bowl.

  1. Add all the ingredients in a large bowl and whisk until all the brown sugar is dissolved. Add mixture to bowl of ice cream maker.
  2. Churn and cream the ice cream according to the directions of your ice cream maker. (My Kitchen Aid requires low speed.)
  3. Once the ice cream is creamy and has reached frozen yogurt consistency, remove the ice cream from the mixer bowl and transfer it to a storage container.
  4. Freeze for at least 2 hours and then serve.
